PERFORMANCE PHYSICAL THERAPIST

About Alpha Project Phyzio
We are hiring a Performance Physical Therapist to perform evaluations, cary out treatment plans, and support the Frederick and Gaithersburg active population.
This role is responsible for delivering a best-in-class patient experience through expert care, timely communication, deductive reasoning, and proactive preparedness to keep patients supported, informed, and on track to reach their goals.

Role Overview
• Perform Performance Physical Therapy Evaluations: Perform 75 minute performance assessments for our clients. This includes evaluations for runners, overhead athletes, triathletes, Highschool athletes, and the active adult.
• Client Communication: Respond to client emails and questions in a timely, thorough, and warm manner that reflects the Alpha Project Phyzio brand and drives positive client sentiment.
• Recommendation of Plan of Care: Recommend a custom plan of care for each patient at the end of your evaluation using clinical knowledge..
• Patient Communication/Engagement: Follow up with patient questions or feedback in a timely manner and create custom exercises after each patient visit.
• Marketing Events: Be willing and excited to take part in occasional marketing events we’ll host at our clinics and out in the community. This includes educational workshops, pop up events, running form assessments, and movement screens.
• EMR Proficiency: Be proficient with or learn to be proficient with PT Everywhere software.
• Continuing Education: Therapist must have a drive to continue learning and improving as a clinician.
• Fitness: We treat active clients and must practice what we preach. Therapist must live an active and healthy lifestyle.
Requirements
•Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree from an accredited program.
•Active Maryland Physical Therapy license (or ability to obtain prior to start date).
• Strong orthopedic and sports medicine clinical reasoning skills.
• Ability to confidently evaluate and treat runners, active adults, and athletes.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to build trust quickly.
• Highly organized with strong documentation habits.
• Growth-minded clinician committed to ongoing professional development.
• Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team culture.
•A proactive, solutions-oriented mindset with a willingness to take ownership and follow through.
•Strong interpersonal skills and a genuine passion for helping patients succeed.
Highly Valuable
• Experience treating runners and endurance athletes.
• Experience with running gait analysis and performance testing.
• Experience treating overhead athletes.
• Experience treating pelvic floor conditions.
• Dry Needling Certification (or willingness to pursue).
• Strength and conditioning background.
• Experience in a cash-pay or hybrid practice model.
• Experience creating educational content or presenting workshops
Performance Expectations

Compensation & Benefits
• Base Salary: $70,000–$90,000 annually.
• Quarterly Performance Bonus: Additional compensation tied to patient outcomes, retention, and clinic growth.
• Paid Time Off: 15 PTO days (3 weeks) annually plus 8 holiday days.
• Continuing Education:
$1,500 annual continuing education allowance.
5 paid continuing education days annually.

This is much more than answering phones and scheduling appointments.
You are the first voice patients hear and the first face they see when they walk through our doors. You set the tone for every patient experience by making people feel welcomed, cared for, and confident they've found the right place.
